Director and screenwriter Silvina Schnicer was born in Buenos Aires, where she studied social communication at the University of Buenos Aires. Over the years, she has formed a creative partnership with Ulises Porra, collaborating on various projects for which they have shared writing and directing roles. Their work includes Tigre (2017) and Carajita (2021). In 2024, Schnicer contributed to the screenplay of Colombian filmmaker Camila Beltrán’s Mi Bestia. Her projects have been featured in renowned festivals including the Festival de Cannes, the Guadalajara, San Sebastián, Shanghai, and Toronto International Film Festivals, and the Miami and Tribeca Film Festivals. The Cottage marks her debut as a solo filmmaker.
