In the presence of the film crew

During the tumultuous years that led up to the 2019 military coup d’état in Sudan, a power struggle erupted between the army and the paramilitary group Rapid Support Forces, whose drive to seize the nation’s wealth forced millions of people into exile. In this context, dreaming of a new, democratic Sudan, Sudanese youth risked everything to overthrow the country’s military regime through impassioned revolution. Shajane, Maha, and Muzamil, like so many young activists, fight for freedom through their words, poems, chants, and artistic creativity.
