Huo Xin graduated from the Department of Dramatic at the Central Academy of Drama in Beijing. A screenwriter and director, she has written or co-written the screenplays for films including Zhang Yang’s Shower (1999) and Full Circle (2012), Stephen Chow’s Kung Fu Hustle (2004), and Gao Qunshu’s Crimes of Passion (2013). Bound in Heaven marks her directorial debut.
