Monia Chokri is an actor, screenwriter, and director. A Brother’s Love (2019), her first feature film as a writer-director, was presented in the Un Certain Regard section of the Festival de Cannes. She has acted for a number of filmmakers, including Denys Arcand, Robin Aubert, Claire Simon, and Katell Quillévéré. She earned public recognition for her role in Heartbeats (2010), directed by Xavier Dolan, with whom she worked again for Laurence Anyways (2012). Her second feature film, Babysitter (2022), starring Nadia Tereszkiewicz, Patrick Hivon, and Steve Laplante, was selected for the Sundance Film Festival. Her most recent feature, The Nature of Love (2023), was selected for Cannes in Un Certain Regard.
