A Moroccan and Belgian director, Jawad Rhalib is known for his socially committed cinema. He has directed several feature-length fiction films, including 7, rue de la Folie (2014), Insoumise (2016), and Amal, un esprit libre (2023), as well as feature-length documentaries such as El Ejido, the Law of Profit (2006), The Damned of the Sea (2008), When Arabs Danced (2018), Fadma: Even Ants Have Wings (2021), and Since I Was Born (2024).
