Born a long time ago in Les Lilas, Erwan Le Duc wrote and directed The bare Necessity, a film presented at Cannes Directors' Fortnight in 2019, as well as several short films, including The Virgin Soldier, selected at La Semaine de la Critique three years earlier. Seven years later, he directed the TV series Under Control, created by Charly Delwart, which was recently awarded at Séries Mania. Before that, he was a journalist for the daily newspaper Le Monde, and project manager for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the Ministry of Culture. Winner of the 2021 Fondation Gan pour le Cinéma Award, he presented his second feature No Love Lost at the closing ceremony of the 2023 Semaine de la Critique.
Etienne is barely twenty when he falls in love with Valérie. They are not much older when their daughter Rosa is born. And then, one day, Valérie leaves and never returns. He chooses not to make a drama of it and builds a happy life for him and his child. Sixteen years later, when Rosa is about to lead her own life, Etienne recognizes his wife in a television report. The past brutally resurfaces, and father and daughter are propelled into one last chaotic family journey.
