Biographie

French film director and screenwriter Julia Ducournau was born in 1983. She attended La
Fémis, where she majored in screenwriting, and gained international attention in 2011 when
her short film Junior was selected for the Semaine de la Critique at the Festival de Cannes.
Her first feature-length film, Raw (2016), generated a shockwave when it was presented in
the Semaine de la Critique, when it was awarded the FIPRESCI Prize. Her second feature,
Titane (2021), presented in the Official Competition at Cannes, won the Palme d’Or.
