Inadelso Cossa is a Mozambican director, producer, and cinematographer., He is the founder of 16mm FILMES, a production company focused on creative documentary and narrative films. His films address themes such as post-colonial memory, post-civil war trauma, silent voices, and collective amnesia in Mozambique. The unofficial history of his country is always the core vehicle of his cinema, in which the director observes from a personal perspective. He has been a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science since 2020.
Amid the aftermath of Mozambique’s civil war, Inadelso Cossa visits his grandmother, confronting fading memories and the blurred lines between truth and fiction. The presence of a former rebel in the village echoes the relentless ghosts of war, mirroring the tensions of the director’s generation.
