Abdollah Alimorad was born in Tehran in 1947, and has always been attracted to painting and working with his hands. After obtaining his high school diploma, he enrolled at the Brussels Academy of Fine Arts. Back in Tehran, he attended the Kanoon School of Animation, founded by Noureddin Zarrinkelk. Once qualified, he began working at the schoo, where he had various responsibilities on numerous projects, and started producing his own body of work. Appreciated both at home and internationally, among many prizes he won the Grand Prix for Best Short Film of Cannes Junior at the Festival de Cannes for Bahador (2001).
