Director's Biography

Abdollah Alimorad was born in Tehran in 1947, and has always been attracted to painting and working with his hands. After obtaining his high school diploma, he enrolled at the Brussels Academy of Fine Arts. Back in Tehran, he attended the Kanoon School of Animation, founded by Noureddin Zarrinkelk. Once qualified, he began working at the schoo, where he had various responsibilities on numerous projects, and started producing his own body of work. Appreciated both at home and internationally, among many prizes he won the Grand Prix for Best Short Film of Cannes Junior at the Festival de Cannes for Bahador (2001).

A programme of three short films:

After a cooling system breakdown, a spaceship must land in a watermelon field, much to the consternation of a farmer and his donkey.
Throughout the spring and summer, two white birds have plenty to eat. With the coming of autumn, food becomes scarce and they have to wander into a swampland.
A camel turns the millstone in the old mill. One day, the animal falls sick. How can the miller replace the camel?
