Ranveer Singh’s meteoric rise has shaken up Bollywood and made him one of India’s most
celebrated actors and one of the most popular icons among youth. He launched his career
with the hugely successful Band Baaja Baaraat and has gone on to demonstrate his acting
skills in a wide range of roles and a variety of genres.

He became one of Sanjay Leela
Bhansali’s favourite performers, appearing in Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela, Bajirao Mastani
and the magnificent Padmaavat, in which Singh revamped the role of the anti-hero in
contemporary Indian cinema—and becoming the youngest star to attract more than three
billion viewers to theatres. Within a dozen years, Singh has become a much sought-after
actor, working with directors including the Khan family, Karan Johar, Rohit Shetty and Aditya
Chopra. In Kabir Khan’s ’83, Singh portrays the legendary Kapil Dev, the captain of the Indian

team that won the Cricket World Cup in 1983. His upcoming films include Johar’s Rocky Aur
Rani Ki Prem Kahaani and Shetty’s Cirkus.
